This is great to see campus sustainability efforts getting press!

on a side note, 

The UC Santa Cruz students decided to tax themselves to buy renewable energy 
certificates, which ended up being part of a revenue stream ultimately owned by 
Goldman Sachs, and not buying green energy as they thought. Its up to us as 
scholars to expose and communicate these kinds of things so that well 
intentioned students are not duped by this kind of greenwashing. The students 
ultimately decided to spend their money elsewhere on real carbon reductions.
