Dear ISA ESS members,

The ISA asked me a couple of months ago to help set up an entry for the
ISA Environmental Study Sections' Best Student Paper Award. Other
sections list past awardees. I have been trying to recreate a list of
past awardees, but am having trouble identifying many. Can anyone help
fill in any of the blanks? Thanks!-- Miranda Schreurs



2011 Jason Thistlethwaite

student in the Global Governance program, won the ISA’s Environmental
Studies Graduate Student Paper Award for his paper, “The ClimateWise
Principles: An Emerging Climate Risk Regime.”

2010 No Award given.

2009 winner: Corina McKendry, “Competing for Green: Neoliberalism,
Environmental Justice, and the Limits of Ecological Modernization”

runner-up: Elizabeth Havice and Liam Campling, “Shifting Tides:
Balancing Access to Foreign and Domsetic Interest in the Western Central
Pacific Ocaean’s Tuna Industry.”

2006 two graduate students received the section’s award: Rachel DeMotts
(U. Wisconsin Madison) for /Participating in Conservation: Governing on
the Ground in the Great Limpopo National Park /and Diana Post (UC
Berkeley) for /Precaution vs Risk in the International Arena: The Case
of Codex Alimentarius/. The papers are available from the online ISA
paper archive.

2005 Steffen Bauer, "Does bureaucracy really matter? The authority of
intergovernmental treaty secretariats"

2004 Allison Morrill Chatrchyan, “Democratic Transition, Stagnation and
