Dear GEP-EDers,
Norm Christensen, Pete Andrews and I have been working hard to recruit
authors for our new 100-chapter Reference Handbook on Environmental
Leadership for Sage Publications. Our hopes are that this work will be
instrumental in defining the field. We have enlisted 80 authors to draft
chapters, and many of you are contributors -- thank you!! We are
nearing the finish line, but need an additional 20 authors to step up.
Please consider contributing. We are particularly interested in chapters
which would reflect on the role of leadership in addressing
environmental injustices (for example, but not limited to environmental
refugees, access to energy and water, children's environmental health).
and in promoting international cooperation in addressing complex issues
such as allocating scare resources, preventing trade in endangered
species, addressing global overpopulation or protecting biodiversity,
among others. We also interested in a few chapters describing the vision
for and challenges of next generation environmental leadership in a
variety of settings -- political, non-profit, advocacy, business.
Chapters are to be 7000 words (approximately 20 pages) and will be due
in Late October. Please consider providing a contribution. The first
step is to send me a 200 word proposal, describing the aims of your
chapter. Feel free to contact me with questions.
I look forward to hearing from you!
Deb Gallagher
