The 2nd ISA World Forum of Sociology Social justice and democratization Buenos Aires, Argentina August 1-4, 2012 Research Committee on Environment and Society, RC24 The Research Committee on Environment and Society, RC24, invites submissions to present papers at the 2012 World Forum of Sociology. The theme chosen by RC24 for this Forum, *Environmental Justice, Citizenship and Governance*, is reflected in the following sessions: - Social justice, democratization and environmental sociology - Nuclear power, risk and climate change - Environmental problems, natural disasters, and socio-technical risks - Governing global socio-ecological systems - Global commodity chains and environmental flows - Environmental attitudes and behaviours - Sustainable consumption and environmental behaviours - Social learning for sustainability: knowledge, democracy and justice - Natural resource governance: participation, citizenship and democratization - Environmental movements, organizations and civil societies - Social justice and the environment - Natural resource rights and other environmental issues and solutions in developing countries - Cities and climate change - Conflicting economies, livelihoods and social-environmental interactions in coastal regions - New directions in environmental sociology - Leisure and Tourism: Social and Environmental Concerns - Climate justice, “buen vivir” and voluntary simplicity: new lifestyles and political commitments - The sociogenesis of environmental injustice and inequality in Latin America.
