Dear Colleagues,

The University of Massachusetts Boston will soon begin accepting
applications for its new PhD program in Global Governance and Human
Security. This interdisciplinary program seeks to equip students with the
knowledge and skills needed to address a number of contemporary global
concerns, including economic welfare and human development, environmental
sustainability, public health, education, human rights, and political
freedom‹and on the interrelationships among them.

Housed within the Department of Conflict Resolution, Human Security, and
Global Governance at the John W. McCormack Graduate School of Policy and
Global Studies, the program is a collaborative effort of the McCormack
Graduate School, the College of Liberal Arts, the College of Science and
Mathematics, and the College of Management. Craig Murphy
(http://www.umb.edu/academics/mgs/faculty/craig_murphy/) is the graduate
program director. Some of the faculty in the program include Sammy Barkin,
Carol Cohn, Leila Farsakh, Maria Ivanova, Darren Kew, Jane Parpart, Tim
Shaw, Eben Weitzman.

I would be glad to talk to any prospective students interested in
environmental policy and governance.

Best regards,
Maria
