Colleagues:

Myself and Stu Hamilton are excited to announce a Mellon post-doctoral
position in remote sensing and environmental aid effectiveness. We are
searching for a recent Ph.D. graduate in geography or the social
sciences who is interested in using remote sensing tools to answer
questions about the effectiveness of forestry and coastal management
programs supported by donor financing. We are building on an emerging
dataset, collected as part of the AidData project, that geo-references
aid activities around the world. We plan to use this data in
conjunction with remotely sensed landscape data to evaluate the
conditions that support effective donor-financed programs. We seek a
post-doctoral researcher who would like to be a full member of this
emerging research program.

This two-year position includes a $45,000 salary and benefits, a
$10,000 annual research account, and dedicated research assistance
from William & Mary undergraduates. The position also offers the
opportunity to teach one course per year and receive mentorship in
teaching. The post-doc can be involved with a number of programs on
campus, including the AidData research project, the Center for
Geospatial Analysis, and the Environmental Science and Policy program.

be interested to contact us:
