Description

The University of Delaware is seeking applicants to fill a tenure track
appointment in its Marine Policy Program in the School of Marine Science and
Policy. Rank is open but priority will be given to hiring at the level of
Assistant Professor. We broadly seek candidates with strong
training/experience in policy analysis and management applied to ocean and
coastal resource use. A PhD in economics, public policy, or other related
field is required.

Areas of interest include bio-economic modeling, coastal management,
maritime transport, offshore energy, ocean governance, and climate change.
We have an especially strong interest in fisheries economics and management.
Training/experience in the economics of natural resources and energy and/or
in quantitative methods in policy analysis is desirable. An interest in
cross-disciplinary research and an ability to work at the science-policy
interface is also advantageous.

The successful candidate will be expected to publish in top field journals,
raise external research funds, teach at the graduate level, and advise
Masters and PhD students. There may be opportunities to teach at the
undergraduate level. Current teaching load is one-course a semester. Marine
Policy faculty members typically have joint appointments in other University
departments. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and
a start-up package is available.

Application Process

Applicants should submit a letter of application and a curriculum vita using
the University of Delaware online application system at
<http://www.udel.edu/udjobs> http://www.udel.edu/udjobs. The information
submitted will be shared with program faculty. Inquiries regarding this
position may be addressed to George Parsons at

[email protected].

On-site Interviews and Timing of Applications

Review of applicants will begin December 13 and continue until a qualified
candidate is found. On-site interviews will begin in mid to late January.
Applications received by December 16 will be considered for a screening
interview in San Diego at the ASSA Meetings. Screening interviews are not
required.

Equal Employment Opportunity

Employment offers will be conditioned upon successful completion of a
criminal background check. A conviction will not necessarily exclude you
form employment. The University of Delaware is an Equal Opportunity Employer
which encourages applications from Minority Group Members and Women. The
University's Notice of Non-Discrimination can be found at
