All, I'm forwarding an announcement for a position of Director for the newly created Institute of Social and Environmental Change at the University of Tasmania. Feel free to forward far and wide. Tasmania is gorgeous, and the heart of environmental politics in Australia. From the announcement:
"The Institute will be the University’s research flagship for investigating the impact of contemporary forces including environmental change on individuals, groups and communities. The Institute’s research will inform international debate and public policy discussion. "The University is seeking an outstanding and dynamic research leader as the Institute’s Foundation Director to establish and manage the Institute as a foremost centre of its kind globally. "Initially the Director will work with University and community stakeholders to refine the Institute’s purpose and create an entity that will have: a culture of research excellence and enterprise; internationally recognised interdisciplinary teams; generous funding from a range of sources; and a supportive environment to enable new researchers to have high impact at an early stage in their careers. "The Director position is full-time for a fixed-term of three years and the Professorial role is continuing. A copy of the position description is attached for your information."
