Dear Colleagues:
Miranda Schreurs and I would like to propose the following panels for ISA
2014. Please respond if you would like to participate to [email protected].

Thanks for your interest,
Regina Axelrod

Panel 1: End of the Nuclear Renaissance? Nuclear Politics Post-Fukushima

Dreams of a nuclear energy resurgence in light of the Fukushima disaster
may be waning. What are the reasons some states choose to leave the
nuclear path while others continue with it? What are the global and
domestic concerns that are linked with the policy choices of states? How
are states realigning their energy policies post-Fukushima (if at all)?
This panel will address the future of nuclear energy looking both at those
countries that are shifting away from it and toward alternative energy
sources and those that are continuing along the nuclear path.

Panel 2: The Ethics of Energy Policy

This panel seeks to address the ways in which ethical questions are or can
be tied to energy policy. What are the ethical dilemmas associated with
different forms of energy and how are they being dealt with in national and
international policies? This panel welcomes papers that look at these
questions from either comparative or international perspectives.
