The Department of Political Science of Colorado College invites applications
for a tenure track appointment at the Assistant Professor level to teach in the
American politics subfield. We seek a candidate who specializes in public
policy—but welcome additional interests in Congress, the environment, race and
ethnicity, and/or social movements. The successful candidate will teach
American Politics and Government, a course currently called Public Policy
Making, and other courses of interest to the candidate. The department will
look for a strong commitment to, and potential for, both research and teaching.

The College is committed to increasing the diversity of the community.
Candidates who can identify the ways in which their experience might contribute
to that goal are particularly encouraged to apply. The College has a unique
academic system in which professors teach, and students take one course at a
time. Each block is three and a half weeks long, with an academic year of eight
and a half blocks. The standard faculty load is six blocks per year, with a
maximum of 25 students per course.

All requirements for the Ph.D. should be completed by the starting date of
September 1, 2014. Applicants should submit a curriculum vitae, a statement of
research and teaching interests, a statement of teaching philosophy, evidence
of teaching effectiveness, transcripts from college and graduate school, and
three letters of recommendation. To create your application on-line, go to:
