Dear colleagues,

I hope you’re enjoying a restful summer break. In case you’re already thinking
about next year’s teaching, you may want to consider the new Handbook of Global
Climate and Environment Policy, which was published by Wiley-Blackwell a couple
of months ago (apologies for the self promotion).

The volume brings together state-of-the-art reviews of recent research from ca
30 leading scholars, including many from the GEP-ED community. A full list of
contributions is included below, further details can be found here:
http://eu.wiley.com/WileyCDA/WileyTitle/productCd-0470673249.html

The Handbook is available in hardback (paperback to follow) and also in
electronic form, which is useful if you want to include some individual
chapters in electronic reading lists. In fact, there are two electronic
platforms for the volume:

· Wiley Online Library delivers individual chapters from books just
like journal articles, and they are also searchable online through Google or
other search engines. If your institution has a subscription for Wiley Online
Library, then you can include any chapter in the Handbook in your electronic
reading list of syllabus. You can find the volume here:
http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/book/10.1002/9781118326213

· Blackwell Reference Online is the other electronic platform. It
brings together Wileys Companions and Handbooks and allows institutions to take
out subscriptions to specific annual collections or the complete collection.
Again, this would allow you to use individual chapters in electronic form.

Best wishes,
Robert

Reviews

"This Handbook brings together world-leading scholars to analyze the political
and economic challenges of climate change and global environmental policy.
Expertly edited, it surveys the latest academic theories as well as provides
groundbreaking research on the organizations, actors, and processes shaping
global environmental politics."—Peter Dauvergne, University of British Columbia

"The Handbook of Global Climate and Environment Policy brings together many of
the world’s leading scholars in to provide 28 authoritative yet accessible
reviews of the state of the art in the field. A superbly edited volume that
will become a crucial resource for students, policy practitioners and scholars
alike."—Frank Biermann, VU University Amsterdam and Lund University

"There are three good reasons why this Handbook should be the first port of
call for anyone interested in global climate and environment policy. First, it
is a written by a stellar cast of researchers at the top of their game. Second,
it is coherently structured to enable a quick and easy navigation of the
contributions. Third, it is thoroughly comprehensive in going well beyond a
purely state-centric focus to include a rich variety of new policy initiatives
by non-state actors. It also explores the intricate connections between global
climate and environment policy and international political economy. This
Handbook will provide not only the student but also the experienced scholar and
practitioner with a definitive and commanding view."—Robyn Eckersley,
University of Melbourne
