the webinar is today, Wednesday... http://switzernetwork.org/calendar-events/webinar-reporting-fracking-front-switzer-foundation-webinar-series Register today! Reporting from the Fracking Front (Switzer Foundation Webinar Series) Event Date: Wednesday, October 30, 2013 Event Time: 12:30 PM Eastern / 9:30 AM Pacific Location: online Related Fellows: Evan Hansen (1996) Dustin Mulvaney (2004) Water Footprint and Water Resource Reporting from Marcellus Shale Drilling and Hydraulic Fracturing in West Virginia and Pennsylvania Join us for a presentation and discussion with Evan Hansen (1996) and Dustin Mulvaney (2004) about how shale drilling and hydraulic fracturing impacts water resources in West Virginia and Pennsylvania. This webinar will highlight the findings from a collaboration between Earthworks, Downstream Strategies, and San Jose State University that was supported by a Switzer Network Innovation Grant. We will also describe how our project to estimate quantities and represent water quality impacts using water footprint indicators was hampered by insufficient reporting practices and requirements. In addition to providing indicators of the impacts to water resources, our findings suggest new reporting requirements that can help to better understand the life cycle impacts to water. Presenters: 1996 Fellow Evan Hansen, M.S., Principal, Water Program, Downstream Strategies 2004 Fellow Dustin Mulvaney, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Sustainable Energy Resources, Department of Environmental Studies, San Jose State University Meghan Betcher, M.S., Environmental Scientist, Downstream Strategies We will also be joined by Nadia Steinzer, Earthworks' Eastern Program Coordinator for the Oil & Gas Accountability Project, and Bruce Baizel, Earthworks' Energy Program Director for the Oil & Gas Accountability Project.
