The Sustainability Engineering and Ecological Design (SEED) Group at 
UC-Santa Cruz, an interdisciplinary group of social science and electrical 
engineering faculty, postdocs and graduate students, is seeking graduate 
school (PhD) applicants who have an interest in conducting research on 
Community Scale Renewable Energy Microgrids.  In collaboration with UC 
Davis, Aalborg University and the Danish Technological University, the 
Center for Sustainable Energy and Power Systems  (CenSEPS) has been awarded 
a 5-year NSF PIRE (Program in International Research and Education) grant 
to conduct community scale renewable microgrid research, in both 
engineering and the social sciences, in the US and Denmark.  Depending on 
department, successful applicants will receive financial packages including 
graduate student research positions, fellowships and teaching 
assistantships.
