The Sustainability Engineering and Ecological Design (SEED) Group at UC-Santa Cruz, an interdisciplinary group of social science and electrical engineering faculty, postdocs and graduate students, is seeking graduate school (PhD) applicants who have an interest in conducting research on Community Scale Renewable Energy Microgrids. In collaboration with UC Davis, Aalborg University and the Danish Technological University, the Center for Sustainable Energy and Power Systems (CenSEPS) has been awarded a 5-year NSF PIRE (Program in International Research and Education) grant to conduct community scale renewable microgrid research, in both engineering and the social sciences, in the US and Denmark. Depending on department, successful applicants will receive financial packages including graduate student research positions, fellowships and teaching assistantships.
