All, I find that climate change has sort of consumed all the oxygen with respect to international environmental politics these days and I find it harder to highlight other important environmental issues sometimes. Since it launched in Feb 2012, I am a bit late to the party in knowing about the What is Missing? Project by Maya Lin but recently came across it and thought others might find it useful for teaching purposes on biodiversity loss.
Ron What is Missing? Mission <https://www.facebook.com/whatismissing/info> https://www.facebook.com/whatismissing/info http://whatismissing.net/#/home The mission of the What is Missing? Foundation is to create innovative artworks that utilize sound, media and scientific and historical information to connect people to the species, places and natural phenomena that have disappeared, or will most likely disappear, if we don't act to protect them. What is Missing? is both a wake up call and a call to action. Making us aware of this sixth mass extinction of species in the planet's history, the What is Missing? Foundation will highlight what scientists and environmental groups throughout the world are doing to help protect species and habitats. The project will also show what each one of us can do in our everyday lives to help.
