Hello gep-eders: Best wishes for the New Year.
I write on the eve of the 20th anniversary of the gep-ed list (where did the last two decades go?) with a request for assistance. I'm leading two student field trips this summer -- one in Dublin, Ireland and the other in Bilbao, Spain -- as part of my occasional work with Semester at Sea <http://www.semesteratsea.org/> . Would any of you have any contacts in the Spanish renewable energy sector that I might approach to explore a tour of renewable energy facilities (wind, solar) within driving distance of Bilbao in June? I'm also seeking environmentalist or public-policy colleagues in Dublin that could help me arrange conversations with the architects of the 'shopping bad tariff' in Dublin and other waste- and consumption-reduction efforts, also in June. I'm afraid that I'm caught a bit short here. I had some leads lined up for both field trips, but they suddenly fell through, and I'm now under pressure to get both field trips (of a half- to full-day in each city) up and running soon. I'd thus appreciate *any *help or suggestions that come to mind. Best to email me off-list, unless your response would be of general interest to the list.
