Hello All, Please see below for a call for proposals for new ISA Career Courses. These are professional development workshops that can be aimed at teaching, research, etc. Given the interests of the group, it seems like a good fit. Given the ESS goal of encouraging young scholars, I'm happy to help co-ordinate if anyone has any proposal ideas.
best, dgwebster ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Andrea Gerlak <[email protected]> Date: Tue, Apr 15, 2014 at 7:08 PM Subject: Career Courses for ISA 2015 To: Andrea Gerlak <[email protected]> Dear ISA Leadership, As a reminder, ISA's Governing Council recently approved a new category of specialty courses called Career Courses for ISA's annual conference. For New Orleans, these will be half-day courses that offer participants an in-depth instruction on advanced topics such as methodology, teaching strategies, software, and more. Career Course proposals will be taken through ISA’s website and Course proposals should be submitted by the instructor or team planning on teaching the course. Instructors can submit proposals for these Career Courses as specialty submissions through the New Orleans conference site<http://www.isanet.org/Conferences/NewOrleans2015.aspx>. Course proposals must detail the title, instructor, description, goals, and the purpose of the course and proposals are due by June 1st. The Professional Development Committee<http://www.isanet.org/ISA/Governance/Committees/ProfessionalDevelopment.aspx> will evaluate them and select four to be held at our New Orleans convention. Selected instructors will receive a stipend for teaching the course, and interested participants will be able to register this fall for course they want to join. Since this is our first year sponsoring Career Courses, we can use your help. Please consider submitting a Career Course proposal or share this opportunity with your colleagues. You can find out more<http://www.isanet.org/Conferences/SpecialConventionPrograms/CareerCourses.aspx> about this program under our "Special Convention Programs<http://www.isanet.org/Conferences/SpecialConventionPrograms.aspx>" area.
