While this position is not exactly a GEP position, we have just approved a new 
major in Environmental Studies and if someone has environmental politics as a 
sub-specialty I would definitely give them a second look.

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (GOVERNMENT): AMERICAN POLITICS/INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS
Manhattan College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor 
position in Government and Political Science, beginning Fall 2015. We seek a 
dynamic teacher and scholar specializing in American Politics or International 
Relations. For American Politics, we look for at least one of the following 
specializations: American Political Institutions, Urban Politics, State and 
Local Politics, Public Law and Administration, Media and Politics, or Gender 
and Politics. Political Theory, Political Economy or Research Methods is a 
welcome second field. For International Relations, we look for at least one of 
the following specializations: International Relations Theory, International 
Political Economy, or Research Methods. The successful applicant will play a 
vital role in the International Studies Program.

Teaching responsibilities will include the Core Curriculum course in 
Government.  Ph.D. at the time of appointment is expected. Candidates should 
show excellence in teaching, evidence of an active scholarly agenda, and the 
potential to engage in service. We are particularly interested in candidates 
who share Manhattan College's commitment to social justice and service to the 
community. The opportunity exists for the successful applicant to contribute to 
our interdisciplinary programs in Urban Studies, Peace Studies, International 
Studies and Labor Studies.

and research agenda, a CV, an unofficial graduate transcript, and three 
professional references. Also please submit a statement of your teaching 
philosophy that includes a discussion of five courses in our catalogue that you
