Dear Gep-Ed-ers/AESS-ians:
At the last ISA, the Environmental Studies Section, the Security Studies Section, and the new Public Health Section co-sponsored an innovative roundtable patterned after a Fred Friendly Seminar, in which the panelists addressed an unfolding environmental security scenario and had to think and react live to developments in the story. Both panel and audience found it extremely interesting, so I am going to propose to ISA that we do the same again this year, with the hope of making it a regular ISA offering. Due to some last minute dropouts, I only ended up with 6 panelists in Toronto, who were all so awesome that they are returning for New Orleans! However, I would like to recruit about 4 more people -- this makes the scenario more complex and allows me to incorporate more players with different points of view. Please send me an e-mail by June 1 if you would like to participate - no paper required, you only have to have a sense of adventure! -Beth _____________________________ Elizabeth L.
