Dear colleagues: Peter Stoett and I are co-editing the new SUNY Press book series, "Environmental Governance: Local-Regional-Global Interactions" (see description below). We'll both be at IPSA in Montreal next week so, if you would like to talk about a proposal there in person, please email us. Otherwise, email us anyway.
Yours truly, Owen Temby --- Book Series Announcement and Call for Proposals SUNY Series in Environmental Governance: Local-Regional-Global Interactions We are pleased to announce the new SUNY Press book series, "Environmental Governance: Local-Regional-Global Interactions," edited by Peter Stoett and Owen Temby. This series aims to publish high quality integrative research from emerging and established scholars on society's responses to environmental challenges. This broad thematic encompasses the multi-scalar character of these environmental challenges and political contestation. Environmental issues are experienced and addressed locally, yet are caused by and contribute to regional and global environmental change. Conversely, they are often caused at a local level, but look to broader (regional or global) levels for amelioration. Local agents are increasingly integrated into regional and global networks of wealth, labor, and knowledge, which influence the ways in which they understand and respond to environmental change as well as to each other. The evolving dialogue between actors and institutions at all three levels is the thematic heart of the series, but we are interested in contributions that discover and rediscover this dialogue from multiple vantage points. We welcome book proposals from scholars in several disciplines and sub-disciplines engaged in the tri-level analysis described above, including: Comparative environmental politics Global environmental governance International political economy Green political theory Natural resources/public policy Sustainable energy policy Urban environmental politics International and domestic law Ecology and human rights Environmental security To submit a proposal, contact the series editors at [email protected] and [email protected]. We look forward to hearing from you, Peter Stoett (Concordia University) Owen Temby (University of Texas-Pan American) -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "gep-ed" group.
