I have successfully used both Mechanical Turk and transcription services for 
this type of work. Mechanical Turk has cost less and been equally accurate,

I agree that the automatic transcriptions aren't likely to be very
good.  If you want transcriptions, I would suggest using a service,
such as http://www.rev.com/.
