The Science, Technology and International Affairs (STIA) Program at Georgetown University’s Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor to start in August 2015. Successful applicants will have a research focus that combines the international policy dimensions of one or several topics that are core to the STIA program with scientific or technical expertise. The program has a particular interest in candidates with research and teaching interests in the areas of science, technology and security policy (such as cyber security/intelligence; geospatial intelligence; or conventional and non-conventional weapons); or business, growth and development policy (such as information technology and development, or innovation and competitiveness); but all exceptional candidates will be considered. We seek a scholar who has demonstrated potential for excellence in research, teaching, and service. The STIA program is home to a unique, inter-disciplinary undergraduate program that produces graduates with the tools needed to understand the complex problems at the intersection of scientific and technical issues and international affairs. Our faculty members are trained in a wide variety of fields in the natural and social sciences and our research occurs at the intersection of science, technology and international policy issues.
