I think there's a bit of fear of self-promotion, but I second the motion. I often need to do Google Scholar searches or have Google Searches programmed with keywords of my interest in global environmental politics because so few of our colleagues share their new and ongoing academic production. Modesty is good, but I wish we shared more of our research (meaning, not a link to a pay-walled paper, but a PDF copy of the article/book chapter) :-)
I also hope we can bypass the assumption that we all are affiliated to universities that have the resources to pay for the journals in which we publish. I doubt this is the case anymore, and I am sure there are many Non-Tenure-Track faculty members or members of countries where libraries aren't well subscribed. So perhaps it'd be a good idea to share these on a regular basis? (copyright issues always to be solved, of course).
