Dear all,

I hope everyone is surviving the end of semester chaos!

Our department would like to propose to our Dean awarding a course release for
faculty who supervise independent studies. We are trying to decide how many
student credit hours a faculty member must accrue before a faculty member earns
a course release.

If your department has such a policy, how many does your department use? Also,
what logic do you use to justify the credit hours chosen? We are trying to
figure out how many SCH to require and what logic would make sense. Any
information on how you handle this would be great.

Please reply off list and I will send out a complied response.

Many thanks!
Shannon
