Dear colleagues,

I teach an undergraduate course in environmental policy where I like to
introduce students to the theory of risk assessment, focusing on the
Hurricane Katrina case study. However I'm stumped on how to do an exercise
with them that is doable within class time. I've taught a similar module at
the graduate level before which was much more involved. I'm just looking
for something fairly simple but which communicates the challenges of
assessing the probability and severity of an event and making an informed
decision.

I would be grateful for any suggestions or advice, if you have exercises or
resources you would like to share. As always, feel free to reply just to me
and I'll compile and post responses later on.

Thank you!
Elizabeth
