Dear GEPers:

Below is information on a search underway at Fairfield University. It does not
have an international focus but I thought I would send it out to everyone as
you may have grad students or others in your departments, programs or networks
that are in job-search mode or who want to move to New England or the greater
New York area. We are not focusing on someone whose research focuses on the
environment but as I am on the search committee (one of several unexpected
administrative and related obligations this term!) .... one never knows.
Information, application links, and Search Chair information (to contact with
questions) are available at

AD:

The Department of Politics and the Master of Public Administration program in
the College of Arts & Sciences at Fairfield University invite applications for
a tenure-track assistant professor to begin in September 2016. We seek
candidates who share in the institution's commitment to excellence in teaching
and can offer graduate courses in Public Administration, including the areas of
ethics and program evaluation; and undergraduate courses in the areas of
American politics and government including, though not limited to any of the
following: urban politics, state and local governance, public policy, interest
groups, campaigns and elections. The successful candidate should be prepared to
assume a leadership role in the Public Administration program within a few
years of assuming the appointment.

Qualified candidates will have a Ph.D. in Political Science, specializing in
Public Administration with a subfield specialty in American politics and
government at the time of appointment (August 2016). The candidate should
demonstrate a record of scholarly production, potential for a strong research
program, a strong potential for successful teaching, and a commitment to
advising and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students. Additionally,
candidates should have a commitment to innovation and demonstrated excellence
in using technology in the classroom.
