specifically focused on the environment, I know there are a lot of people on
this list focused on non-state actors, especially NGOs.  And if you¹re not

Assistant or Associate Professor - Nonprofit Management
School of Public Affairs, Baruch College,
City University of New York

The School of Public Affairs at Baruch College invites applications for a
tenure-track assistant or associate professor faculty position in nonprofit
management. The areas of research and teaching expertise within the
nonprofit sub-field are open. Candidates applying for appointment as an
associate professor should have a strong record of research and publications
and an active research program. Candidates for appointment as an assistant
professor should demonstrate high promise as a researcher and an appropriate
research agenda. Additional experience in or a commitment to teaching
courses in research methods, policy analysis, or environmental
sustainability is highly-desirable. Faculty are expected to share
responsibility for committee assignments, provide advice to students in the
nonprofit management specialization within the MPA program, and collaborate
with the School's Center for Nonprofit Strategy and Management.
 
Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent. Also required are the
ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and
ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution. Candidates
with professional or practical nonprofit management experience are
encouraged to apply. Experience or interest in teaching hybrid or online
courses is highly desirable.
