Dear colleagues, Following on from my earlier announcement, we are happy to inform you that we have extended the deadline for abstract submissions for the international conference on Transparency and Sustainability to November 15, 2015.
>From the queries we get, we are convinced that people would appreciate having >this extra time. Abstracts can be submitted via the conference website: http://www.transparencyenp2016.com/ Decisions on abstracts will be known by Dec. 15, 2015. I would also like to take this opportunity to inform you that there is now a summer school attached to this conference. Please feel free to share information about this with your PhD students and interested others! Brief description: In conjunction with the international conference on Transparency and Sustainability, the Environmental Policy group organizes a Summer School entitled “Tackling Transparency: the Challenges of Operationalizing Research on Disclosing Sustainability” from June 21 to June 25, 2016. Participation in the two-day international conference is embedded in the Summer School program. The Summer School is aimed at early career social scientists (PhD students and Postdoc researchers) embarking on, or involved in, researching themes of transparency, accountability and empowerment in global environmental governance, traceability in commodity chains, and citizen generated transparence. The aim of the Summer School is to explore the methodological challenges of operationalizing research on disclosing sustainability. The Summer School will highlight a number of themes and contexts in which these challenges manifest themselves, such as analyzing the role of information in sustainability practices, using big data and social media in research, developing and analyzing sustainability indicators, involving and analyzing citizen science approaches. Participants will be accommodated in a beautiful and rustic setting. For more information on the contents and the organizational aspects (e.g. location, costs, ECTS) visit the Summer School page on the conference website (see link above).
