The University of Sydney’s Postdoctoral Fellowship scheme aims to attract outstanding early career researchers across the university. For the first time, the University is focusing recruitment on a number of inter- and multi-disciplinary research priorities, including the Sydney Environment Institute (SEI). The SEI is the home of Humanities for the Environment’s Australia Pacific Observatory, and hosts and runs a number of research projects and initiatives in the environmental social sciences and humanities; these include work on impacts and representations of the anthropocene, climate adaptation and transformation, environmental justice, and food systems. See our current work at sydney.edu.au/sei, though proposals in new areas are welcome. Applications entail an initial approval of a sponsoring academic and Centre Director, an expression of interest due 17 June, and, if invited, a full proposal due 25 July. More information is available here: http://sydney.edu.au/research_support/funding/sydney/postdoctoral_fellowship.shtml And here: http://sydney.edu.au/research_support/funding/documents/sydney-fellowship-guidelines.pdf I feel obliged to warn that these are extremely competitive fellowships; applicants without an outstanding publication record (usually a book or multiple refereed articles) will not make it past the first round. That said, I am happy to respond to questions that are not answered in the above documents.
