Colleagues: I write to advertise for a tenure track position in the School of Earth, Environmental, and Marine Sciences (SEEMS) at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV). Here is the link for the position: https://careers.utrgv.edu/postings/13189
We begin reviewing candidates on Feb. 1, so applications must arrive no later than Jan. 31. We had advertised this position earlier, with a November deadline, but have extended it. The job description is written narrowly, as "Coastal and Marine Ecosystems Services Valuation.” However, some of the listed areas of specialization are "applied policy research, and resilience of agricultural, coastal, marine or urban ecosystems.” The part of the description that I would like to call interested applicants’ attention to is the expectation that they will “develop an integrative research agenda for the Lower Rio Grande delta region of South Texas and northeast Mexico.” I’m the search committee chair, so please direct any questions my way ([email protected]). I’m pleased to say that UTRGV is a great place to set up shop, and SEEMS is a strong department with excellent scholars and students. Yours truly, Owen -- Owen Temby, Ph.D. Assistant Professor Department of Political Science The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley One West University Blvd. Brownsville, Texas 78520 956-882-8821 (tel.)
