You are being invited to attend the Second Yale Conference on Sustainable
Development in Latin America and the Caribbean (SDLAC): Addressing Gaps and
Working Toward Implementation. The Conference will be held on Friday, March
31st 2017, from 8:30 am to 6:30 pm, at F&ES.

Organized by students in F&ES and the Jackson Institute for Global Affairs,
the Conference aims to provide Yale faculty and students as well as members
of the wider community with an opportunity to discuss the challenges of and
opportunities for successfully implementing the Sustainable Development
Goals (SDGs) in the Latin American and Caribbean region.

The discussion will focus on three themes:

   1. Climate Change and the Environment – Adaptation, Building Resilience
   to Climate Change and Reducing Vulnerabilities
   2. Peace as a Tool for Development
   3. Bridging Gaps and Breaking Down Institutional Silos for Sustainable
   Development

Speakers will be senior officials in a range of organisations concerned
with sustainable development in the Latin American and Caribbean region.
These organizations include the United Nations Development Programme,
Humboldt Institute Colombia, International Institute for Peace,
Organization of American States, Inter-American Development Bank, and the
Caribbean Disaster and Emergency Management Agency. Speakers will represent
more than eight Latin American and Caribbean countries.
