The Political Science Department at Trier University seeks to recruit a 
political scientist for a full-time research associate position (E13 TV-L) with 
a fixed-term contract for the period from 1 June 2017 to 31 January 2022. This 
position is affiliated to the chair in Comparative Politics (Prof. Joachim 
Schild) and funded by the Stiftung Mercator.

You will teach European public policies as well as research methods and 
techniques in our newly established Master's program "European and East Asian 
Governance" (4-6 h/week)

You should have a research interests in European policy studies, by preference 
in environmental and/or energy policy or alternatively in the EU's foreign or 
foreign economic policy or EU security affairs. You will have a completed PhD 
in Political Science, or a closely related discipline, or be very close to 
having completed a PhD by the post's starting date. You should have experience 
in teaching on European politics or policies.

Further duties and responsibilities are

  *   Support of master students enrolled in this program;
  *   Organization of extra-curricular activities such as guest talks, 
simulations, field trips to European institutions.
  *   Internal and external coordination in the framework of the new Master's 
program "European and East Asian governance";
