availability and accessibility of sustainably focused faculty development

What: Online Workshop - Sustainability Across the Curriculum

Description: This online event is designed for higher education instructors 
wishing to infuse issues of sustainability (ecological stability, social equity 
and economic vitality) into their curriculum regardless of the discipline. 
Sustainability issues across all disciplines and the intent of this course is 
to identify those areas of intersection. Effective assessment of critical 
thinking skills, collaboration, creativity and the ability to analyze, discuss 
and create solutions to real-world sustainability problems will be explored. 
Three graduate credits are available to students through Aurora University. 
Students must have earned a bachelor's degree in order to receive graduate 
credits.

Description: Attend this innovative workshop where indigenous faculty members 
and Knowledge Holders will gather with faculty who are focused on 
sustainability education. This will be a unique opportunity to discuss the 
synergies between indigenous teachings and sustainability goals. The session 
will also include community members from the region and beyond who have a 
special interest in this area.

Description: Climate change and sustainability are critical concerns for the 
future of human civilizations. Incorporating these concepts and approaches into 
higher education curricula can be as simple as adding a field trip, module or 
case study to your course syllabus. This workshop will provide peer-to-peer 
support for faculty who wish to add sustainability or climate change education 
to an existing course. We will brainstorm pedagogical approaches, share 
suggestions and resources. Faculty from all disciplines are encouraged to 
apply. Participants are required to bring a syllabus to update.

Description: Envision your campus and community as a sustainability pedagogical 
opportunity, a chance to infuse sustainability across your curriculum and 
provide applied, real world sustainability experiences for students. Join us 
for an interactive idea-generating workshop for sharing and establishing best 
practices to utilize the campus and surrounding community as Sustainability 
Living Learning Labs. The workshop is intended for faculty and sustainability 
staff who are currently using Sustainability Living Learning Labs on their 
campus or in their surrounding community. This three-day workshop will focus on 
building a shared framework for developing, institutionalizing, expanding and 
maintaining Sustainability Living Learning Lab programs both on campus and in 
the surrounding community. Participants will be asked to share their 
experiences, vision, approach and curricular integration strategies for 
creating and expanding Sustainability Living Learning Labs at their respective 
universities.
