All, The University of Sydney Law School has a Postdoctoral Fellowship<http://sydney.nga.net.au/cp/index.cfm?event=jobs.checkJobDetailsNewApplication&returnToEvent=jobs.processJobSearch&jobid=EB069956-06A3-436E-A317-A7A000A5E780&CurATC=EXT&CurBID=949319bc-8898-4f11-ac4b-9db401358504&jobsListKey=32ec3332-1de7-4fdf-92cb-a2fc2a7499d9&persistVariables=CurATC,CurBID,jobsListKey&lid=47739310008> available. The postdoc is designed to work with one of the multidisciplinary research initiatives (MDRI) of the University, including the Sydney Environment Institute. Candidates need both a JD (or LLB) and a PhD.
>From the Law School: This would be a great opportunity for someone wanting to work in a multidisciplinary environment, with links into both law and one of these research centres. The MDRIs work across a wide range of issues where a legal/regulatory perspective is important, so this position could suit someone with a research project they want to pursue in one of a very wide range of areas: health and health or food governance; economic and social development in Southeast Asia; environmental and climate justice or the anthropocene; data-based study of issues around criminology or juvenile justice, etc. The candidate pack has more information on the MDRIs. The position is a research focused 3 year fixed term position, based in the law school. The successful candidate will need a PhD (in any discipline) awarded (i.e. passed by examiners) prior to the commencement of the fellowship, and in any event no earlier than 1 January 2012 and no later than 1 January 2018 and, because we’d like to recruit someone who could have a future here or at a Law School, we’re looking for someone with an LLB or JD. The successful candidate will be required to start in the Law School by February 2018. All applications must be submitted online via the University of Sydney careers website. Visit http://sydney.edu.au/recruitment/ search by reference number 1288/0617 for more information and to apply. Applications close 11:30pm, 10 September 2017. First point of contact would be with a relevant faculty sponsor in the Sydney Law School, but I’d be happy to talk to folks about the partnership with the work of the Sydney Environment Institute.
