Hi all, Apologies for cross-posting! I sent this out just before the holidays, so in case you missed it, there is still another week to get your application in. Colorado College is a great place to work, and we take good care of our visitors. I’m not the contact for the hire, but I’m happy to answer any questions.
Best, Corina The Environmental Program at Colorado College invites applications for a one-year visiting faculty position to teach classes in environmental law and policy. The successful candidate will teach six courses, including multiple sections of U.S. Environmental Law & Policy, Environmental Management, and two electives in their area of expertise. A PhD at time of appointment is preferred, though advanced doctoral candidates will be considered. Applicants must be committed to high quality, innovative undergraduate teaching. Colorado College uses the Block Plan, an intensive teaching schedule in which professors teach and students take only one course at a time for 3.5 weeks. The Block Plan lends itself to field and project-based teaching. Funds and logistical support for field trips and community-based learning projects are available through the Environmental Program. The faculty visitor will teach six regular courses within the 8-block academic year. Appointment will be at the visiting assistant professor level for candidates holding a PhD; ABDs are appointed as visiting lecturers. The PhD or ABD is a requirement for employment. Visiting faculty are eligible for travel support to an academic conference and can apply for additional research funds during the academic year. Colorado College is committed to increasing diversity of the community and curriculum. Candidates who can contribute to that goal are particularly encouraged to apply. Applicants should send a cover letter, curriculum vitae, teaching statement (to include a discussion of the candidate’s qualifications to teach the requested courses), and names and contact information of three referees in a single pdf by email to Dr. Jean Lee ([email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>), Assistant Professor in the Environmental Program. Applications will close on January 30th at midnight MST. Colorado College is an equal opportunity employer committed to increasing the diversity of its community. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, gender, age, religion, gender identity or expression, disability, or sexual orientation in our educational programs and activities or our employment practices. ----- Corina McKendry, Ph.D. Associate Professor of Political Science Associate Director, State of the Rockies Project [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> o (719) 389-6788 COLORADO COLLEGE 14 E.
