Apologies for cross-posting. For those interested in the Commons Research
and Practice, the Right Seeds Group in cooperation with the International
Association for the Study of the Commons (www.iasc-commons.org)
<http://www.iasc-commons.org> is organizing a thematic workshop
“*Conceptualizing
the New Commons - the examples of Knowledge Commons & Seed and Variety
Commons*” on 6-8 June 2018. Theoretical and conceptual contributions from
current research, not restricted to, but particularly on the following
issues are welcome to submit an abstract:

·         Theoretical advancements of Seed and  Variety Commons and New
Commons

·         Perspectives from the Global South and Global North on New Commons

·         Polycentric governance of Global Knowledge Commons and
biodiversity/plant genetic resources

·         Global Commons character of Knowledge Commons and Seed & Variety
Commons

·         New Commons as means for personal wellbeing and re-democratization

·         New Commons as means for social-ecological transformation

The workshop includes keynotes from Brett M. Frischmann of Villanova
University, Silke Helfrich of Commons - Institut e.V. and Jack Kloppenburg
of University of Wisconsin. Individual contributions from participants will
be discussed in detail. Please consider applying for participation with an
abstract or forward to those who might be interested (on both post-Doc and
PhD levels). Abstracts of 300-500 words excluding keywords and references
should be sent to [email protected] by *February 25, 2018*.

The workshop, organized by the Right Seeds Research Group in cooperation
with the IASC, will take place in Oldenburg, Germany (close to the City of
Bremen).

RightSeeds is a collaborative research project by the Department for
Economics at the Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg, the Institute for
Ecological Economy Research (IÖW) and the Agroecology group at
Georg-August-University Göttingen.
