Lecturer and Senior Lecturer in Political Science and International Relations School of Social Sciences Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (Two fixed-term positions, based in Tauranga) The School of Social Sciences is seeking to appoint a Lecturer (two year fixed term) and a Senior Lecturer (two year fixed term) in the area of Political Science and International Relations. These positions are based at the University of Waikato Tauranga Campus and will contribute to the undergraduate and graduate teaching, postgraduate thesis supervision and administration requirements of the Political Science and International Relations subject areas in both Tauranga and Hamilton. The successful candidates will be expected to teach on both campuses. Applications are sought from scholars who can teach Political Science and International Relations. All areas of specialisation are welcome, including environmental security and food security; China, the Middle East; gender politics and feminist theory. Responsibilities of the successful applicants will include establishing and maintaining a productive research programme, teaching undergraduate and postgraduate papers, supervising postgraduate student research, and contributing to the administration of the degree programme. Applicants must have a PhD in Political Science or International Relations, experience in undergraduate teaching, and a record of research publications in keeping with the position of a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer. Experience in graduate supervision is desirable. Current salary range for Lecturers is NZ$74,034 to $89,163 per year, and Senior Lecturers is NZ$91,710 to $106,995, dependent on qualifications and experience.
