Most of you probably already know about this aspect of Interfolio’s website,
but if you don’t, its blog postings on pedagogy are often extremely good. wil

So you've landed a teaching job.
You beat out dozens (if not hundreds) of applicants and now you must prepare to
teach your first course.
In this recent post, Dr. Ramon Goings suggests a few ideas on how to prepare,
and also highlights several perspectives of colleagues in the field.

Be forewarned. There is minutia.
Teaching isn't just about the actual instruction of your students—you will
probably need a contact in IT.

If you're faculty of color, call on your colleagues.
There is a litany of research that explains the prevalence of negative
encounters for faculty of color. Combat it by developing trusted peers.

Use the existing playbook.
Lean on previous syllabi for the course or program to get you started. There's
no shame in using it as a starting point.
