One-year Visiting Assistant Professor in Environmental Studies - 
Environmental Policy
Colby College - Waterville, ME

The Environmental Studies (ES) Program at Colby College invites 
applications for a one-year visiting assistant professor position in 
environmental policy to begin September 1, 2020. Candidates should have a 
Ph.D. in Environmental Studies, Environmental Policy, or a related 
interdisciplinary environmental field as well as a strong commitment to 
undergraduate education. Candidates who are ABD with an expected completion 
date prior to August 1, 2020 will be considered. Teaching responsibilities 
will include five courses taught at the introductory to advanced levels. 
The candidate will teach a 200-level domestic environmental policy course 
that serves Environmental Studies majors and minors. The candidate will 
teach additional courses that serve ES majors and minors in their area of 
specialty.  Specific areas of interest include, but are not limited to, a 
GIS or other methods course, policy dimensions of conservation, food, 
forest or freshwater resources, justice, or environmental negotiation with 
an emphasis on US policy.  The search committee is especially interested in 
candidates who, through their research, teaching and/or service, will 
contribute to the diversity and excellence of the campus community. For
