Colleagues:

Gordon Hickey (McGill University) and I are searching for two candidates to
join an inter-institutional research team working on an exciting and
innovative project on U.S.-Canadian transboundary fisheries governance. The
conceptual focus is on understanding the inter-relationships between
different dimensions of trust, control and risk in policy networks. The
empirical focus will be on the transboundary Salish Sea and Gulf of Maine
regions of North America.

The openings:

1. *A postdoctoral fellow to be institutionally and physically based at
McGill University*. This position will be funded by the Social Science and
Humanities Research Council of Canada. I have attached the advertisement
for this position with more information about qualifications and the
application procedure.

2. *A master’s student to be based at The University of Texas Rio Grande
Valley*, co-supervised by Owen Temby and Gordon Hickey. This student will
enroll in UTRGV’s interdisciplinary M.S. in Ocean, Coastal, and Earth
Sciences, and will be funded through the NOAA Center for Coastal and Marine
Ecosystems. We welcome applicants for this program and opportunity from a
variety of scholarly backgrounds, including the social and natural
sciences. American citizenship is required. This opportunity includes a
stipend of $16,500/yr for up to three years, tuition, and a 3-month
internship at a NOAA facility related to the research project.

Applicants to the NOAA-funded M.S. at UTRGV should submit a cover letter
describing your research background, interests, and qualifications and
curriculum vitae with contact information for at least two references to
[email protected].

Both positions are open until filled. Only short-listed candidates will be
notified.
