The FNS-funded PANARCHIC <http://www.panarchic.ch/> project (Power and
Networks and the Rate of Change in Institutional Complexes, PI: James
Hollway) invites applicants for a 2-year postdoctoral position to begin
September 2021 at the Graduate Institute of International and Development
Studies, Geneva.


The postdoc will join an interdisciplinary team
<http://www.panarchic.ch/> developing
theories, methods, and data for comparing how networks of international
institutions in different domains change over time. The postdoc’s main role
in this project will be methodological development, but there is room for
the postdoc to pursue their own related theoretical and substantive
research agenda.



Candidates should be able to demonstrate:


-      A strong PhD in International Relations, Political Science,
International Law, International Economics, International History,
Anthropology, or Sociology.

-      An interest in global governance, the environment, conflict,
development, trade, finance, health, migration, human rights, democracy,
and gender.

-      Data analytic skills and ideally methods development experience,
especially in social network, sequence, panel, or text analysis.

-      Experience using R and ideally package development experience,
especially with additional language skills in Python or C++.

-      Intellectual creativity and autonomy and ability to work well in a
team.
