Dear GEP-ED colleagues,

On behalf of the GlobalGoals Project<https://globalgoalsproject.eu/> and the
Earth System Governance Taskforce on the Sustainable Development
Goals<https://www.earthsystemgovernance.org/research/taskforce-on-the-sustainable-development-goals/>,
I am inviting you to join the next episode of our GlobalGoals Webinar Series
on the transformative potential of the SDGs. This webinar series, which runs
throughout 2021, presents the main findings of the ‘SDG Midterm Impact
Assessment’, which is forthcoming in early 2022 with Cambridge University Press
and coordinated by Thomas Hickmann, Carole-Anne Sénit and myself.

In our next episode, Marianne Beisheim (SWP German Institute for International
and Security Affairs, Germany) and Steven Bernstein (University of Toronto,
Canada), lead authors of the assessment chapter on ‘Global Governance and the
SDGs’, will discuss the extent to which the SDGs have led to political and
institutional changes in the global governance of sustainable development,
within and beyond the United Nations system. Then, Javier Surasky (CEPEI -
Centro de Pensamiento Estratégico Internacional, Colombia) will reflect on the
findings from the perspective of his practitioner’s experience.

Date: 25 May 2021
Time: 16:00-17:00 (CEST)

The event will take place on Zoom and will be moderated by Carole-Anne Sénit,
researcher in the GlobalGoals project and co-editor of the SDG Midterm Impact
Assessment, Utrecht University. Registration is required – please see our
website for a complete event description and to
register<https://globalgoalsproject.eu/webinar-globalgovernance/>.

Best regards,
