Hi,

Semester at Sea is looking for someone to teach Intro. to IR and two other
courses (which could be related to the environment) on the spring 2022 voyage.
I was to have been the instructor on this voyage, but had to give it up to take
my new position at the University of Copenhagen. I was going to teach a section
of Global Environmental Politics and a course on the politics of everyday
objects using some books from the Palgrave resources series. I’d be more than
happy to share my materials. Please direct any other questions to Bob Kling
(cc’d above and email below).

Best,
Michele

Semester at Sea (operated jointly by the Institute for Shipboard Education and
its university partner Colorado State University) currently is recruiting a
faculty member in the field of International Relations, for the Spring 2022
voyage. This is a 1-semester appointment to teach with the onboard faculty of
about 27 individuals representing a broad range of academic disciplines.
Please see the attached job description. Expressions of interest for
subsequent semesters also are welcome.

Semester at Sea is a long-established international education program that each
semester brings several hundred students on a worldwide voyage of comparative
global studies, visiting 8 to 10 countries in the context of fully accredited
regular course work on board the MV World Odyssey. The faculty member usually
must have a PhD, a record of excellent undergraduate teaching, international
interests and experience, additional relevant academic record, and commitment
to being part of a living-learning community for about 105 days at sea and in
port countries. The faculty member would teach International Relations (a
lower-division course) plus 2 additional courses in Political Science or
related areas. To be available to participate in the Spring 2022 voyage, the
faculty member must have approved leave from their home institution, or be
emeritus faculty, or have some similar availability.
