The post-doctoral researcher will support a community-based participatory research initiative focused on the role of fiscal policy and public services in the challenge of "just transitions" for Native American economies and communities--here the case is the Apsáalooke (Crow) nation in Montana. The project involves qualitative research, fiscal and other public policy analysis, and supporting a public finance leadership institute. The entirety of the project is co-designed with and directed by a cohort of Apsáalooke community leaders. We seek a scholar with a PhD or equivalent expertise in Geography, Community Development, Applied Economics, or other relevant fields. Most importantly, we seek an energy transition scholar who is passionate and knowledgeable about participatory methods and bi-cultural knowledge production as well as public finance questions. The scholar will have access to mentorship and engagement with the entire project team and will be co-located at Little Big Horn College and Montana State University. This is a unique opportunity to do important and challenging work and I hope you will help us spread the word.
