While the scope of the programme is broader than ‘environmental studies’ there
is always a strong emphasis on sustainable development and environmental
concerns.

For any queries pertaining to this vibrant international training and dialogue
programme, please refer to my colleague Anna (as indicated with the call below).

Best wishes,

Steffen

Dear colleagues,

I would like to draw your attention to the open call for applications to the
Managing Global Governance (MGG) Academy.

The MGG Academy is focused on global sustainability challenges and their
governance. We put principles of mutual respect, learning, dialogue and
exchange of different perspectives between the participants and facilitators in
the center, instead of presenting predefined views - hence trying to put into
practice that different knowledges count.

The basic info about the Managing Global Governance Academy are included below.
If you are interested in the format yourselves or know of colleagues from
Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Mexico, South Africa or Europe who might be
interested, please share the information or get in touch with me.

MGG Academy 2022 in a nutshell

What is the MGG Academy?

The MGG Academy is a training and dialogue format that brings together young
professionals from six rising powers (Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Mexico,
South Africa) and Europe.

The participants work in government institutions, research institutions and
think tanks, civil society and the private sector. The overall purpose of the
format is to support the development of future change makers that are dedicated
to jointly address global challenges.

How long, when and where?

The MGG Academy is a full time, four-months programme that takes place from 11
August to 7 December 2022 in Bonn, Germany. It is implemented by the German
Development Institute / Deutsches Institut für Entwicklungspolitik and funded
by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development.

Content

The MGG Academy combines academic modules on pressing global challenges and
potential solutions with leadership modules to enhance personal and social
competencies and action-oriented project work.

What do we offer?

Participants in the MGG Academy are granted a scholarship, which covers the
current costs of living, all MGG-related costs and travel expenses in Germany
and Europe as well as health, personal liability and accident insurances during
the training.
