Hi all. I’m delighted to advertise a* 2-year post-doctoral position* focusing
on the users of the U.S. Protected Areas Database
<https://www.usgs.gov/programs/gap-analysis-project/science/pad-us-data-overview>
 (PAD-US).
As noted by the USGS, PAD-US is, “America’s official national inventory of
U.S. terrestrial and marine protected areas that are dedicated to the
preservation of biological diversity and to other natural, recreation and
cultural uses, managed for these purposes through legal or other effective
means.” Funded through a USGS cooperative agreement, this project seeks to
understand the use and users of PAD-US data.

This project, and associated postdoctoral position, is part of a larger
effort to develop and analyze USGS geospatial data. The post-doc will work
closely with team members engaged on the PAD-US and the Gap Analysis
Project (GAP) <https://www.usgs.gov/programs/gap-analysis-project>. They
will lead data collection, data analysis, dissemination of findings in the
form of peer-review publications and project reports, and mentor
students. The post-doc will receive mentoring and support from senior
investigators throughout the project.

We seek a *social scientist or a social-ecological systems scientist *with
experience in qualitative research methodologies. This individual will
collaborate with PAD-US stakeholders, and GAP team members.

Details, including salary and application link, can be found here
<https://jobs.boisestate.edu/en-us/job/497313/post-doctoral-research-fellow>.
The
deadline for applying is *January 6, 2023.*

Please share this information widely and encourage talented applicants to
apply. I’m happy to answer any questions.

 Best,

 Dr. Monica Hubbard <[email protected]>
