Dear all, the following webinar may be of interest to list members interested in pesticide governance and/or evidence-informed decision-making for sustainability:
TRAPEGO Webinar: Principles of evidence-informed governance for sustainability-best practice examples from pesticide policy and practice 2 December, 16:00-17:00 Central European Time Reducing environmental and human health risks posed by agricultural pesticides is a crucial policy goal and requires incorporation of scientific evidence into pesticide governance. How evidence is and can be used is, however, often not clear. The webinar explores what principles can guide evidence-informed governance for sustainable pesticide use. Bringing together sustainability science and evidence use literature, we synthesize principles of evidence-informed governance pertaining to the evidence base, the process of evidence use, and the impacts of evidence use. We develop a comprehensive operationalization of the principles for the area of pesticide governance and apply it to the case of Switzerland, a country with ambitious risk reduction targets.
