Subject: [Environmental Politics & Governance (EPG) PhD positions on
environmental governance in Gothenburg

CAUTION: EXTERNAL SENDER
Dear EPG Colleagues,
Please feel free to spread to your students - we are recruiting two PhD-student
positions in Gothenburg.
Best,
Aksel

Doctoral student in Political Science, one or two, for a research programme on
environmental governance and corruption (University of Gothenburg)

The Department of Political Science, University of Gothenburg, offers one or
two fully paid 4-year positions leading to a PhD.

The doctoral positions are funded by Mistra CLEAN, a research programme focused
on examining the connections between institutional failures and environmental
challenges. The programme addresses two major societal issues: institutional
failures - such as corruption, policy capture, and crime - and environmental
problems, as well as the linkages between these processes. Its overarching aim
is to generate both theoretical and empirical insights into these phenomena.

As part of your employment as a doctoral student, you have a salary and full
employment benefits for at least 4 years. You may have departmental duties
corresponding to up to 20 % of full-time employment, distributed throughout
your study period, and result in a corresponding extension of the studies up to
one year. Departmental duties usually consist of teaching but may also include
research and administration.

The Department is an open and socially engaged institution, in the middle of
the city and at the centre of the debate. The working language in the lunchroom
is English, and it has one of the biggest Political Science faculties in
Europe. Our research revolves around elections, democracy, corruption, forms of
government, globalization, the environment and politics, and European politics.
The department hosts research programs such as the Center for Environmental
Political Studies (CEPS), the Quality of Government (QoG) institute, the
Varieties of Democracy (V-Dem) institute, Governance and Local Development
(GLD) and the Swedish Electoral Research Program.
