Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to invite you to apply for the summer school “Climate Action
Beyond Governments: Assessing and Strengthening Integrity”, taking place from
22–26 June 2026 at Radboud University (Nijmegen, the Netherlands).

Climate action by cities, companies, financial institutions, and partnerships
has expanded rapidly in recent years. Yet questions of credibility, integrity,
and real-world impact remain central. This summer school focuses on how
non-state and sub-national climate action can meaningfully contribute to a
low-carbon and climate-resilient future — and how integrity can be strengthened
while accelerating action where it matters most.

The programme is hands-on and structured around a week-long group assignment.
Participants work in interdisciplinary teams to develop actor-specific roadmaps
for high-integrity climate action (2026–2035). These roadmaps are grounded in
real governance contexts, political trade-offs, and implementation constraints,
and are developed through a mix of short inputs, practitioner insights, and
interactive sessions.

By the end of the week, participants leave with a concrete, practical roadmap
for higher-integrity and accelerated climate action, sharpened through peer
exchange and discussions with researchers and practitioners working at the
front lines of climate governance.

The summer school is open to graduate students, early-career researchers, and
professionals from academia, policy, civil society, and the private sector. We
strongly encourage applications from the Global South, and a limited number of
scholarships are available.

Early registration discount:

A reduced participation fee applies for early registrations (before 1 April).
We encourage interested participants to apply early to benefit from this
discount.
