The Environmental Studies Program at Wellesley College invites
applications for a tenure-track position in environmental studies at the
rank of Assistant Professor to begin in fall 2006.  A Ph.D. in
environmental studies or a related field is expected by the start of
employment.  We seek an individually broadly trained in environmental
studies with teaching interest and a research profile in the social
sciences. The successful candidate will be expected to regularly teach an
interdisciplinary mid-level environmental social science course with a
focus on policy, and will also teach in our team-taught introduction to
environmental studies and our capstone seminar for ES majors, as well as
elective courses in her or his area of expertise. A wide range of research
interests will be considered, including (but not limited to) environmental
justice, comparative or American environmental or science policy, resource
economics, environmental planning and human geography.
