New question #119845 on Gephi:
https://answers.launchpad.net/gephi/+question/119845

On my desktop machine (a Dell Optiplex, running Fedora 10 and using java
jdk1.6.0_21), the graph window stays white. The number indicating the position
of the cursor doesn't change. I can see that there is data by looking in the
preview window/data lab. The layout commands run but don't produce anything in
the graph window. I'm using "Les Mis" as a trial dataset (but the same problem
happens with other datasets).

I tried deleting the .gephidesktop, .netbeans and .java directories in my home
directory in case there was an incorrect configuration file, but this didn't
work.

In contrast, on my laptop (a Dell, running the same OS and version of java),
the graph window was OK.

Also, in contrast with the post "Graph window stays white on Ubuntu 9.10", I
don't have a problem with the "Welcome to Gephi" window being truncated.

In case it matters, I found that in order to get anywhere, I needed a line at
the start of gephidesktop:
PATH="/usr/java/default/bin:$PATH"
to get it to find the correct java (since I also have openjdk installed).

Thanks for your help!
